Diversity Meeting – May 28th, 2002

How would it be if we had a support group for kids?

Groups discussed.  Team Time group for support discussed as an idea; school partnership idea discussed.  FOC – I won’t take that position until a person of color accepts a position.  White people need to be included in the racial identity.  Is there an issue of parents of color not being involved in decision-making and/or school governance?  People of Color don’t have to be the ones who keep fighting.

How do we increase the involvement of parents of color in our school?

How do we support children during the process of racial identity development?  And how can we increase this support?
